Studio 405
I come from a background of visual artists and creators, beginning my own creative journey at an early age. Prior to art school in 84, I worked as a pen & ink artist, taking commissions and exploring other art mediums. I realized I wanted a more formal training, so I went to several different schools for Art, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, the Art institute of Ft Lauderdale, St Petersburg Voc. Tech and Glenville state. Prior to coming home to WV, I taught grade school Art in Fla and North Carolina.
Thirty years ago, I came to Elkins, where I was hired as an Arts Bank artist for Homestead and Valley Head where I taught papier Mache, painting, color, pen & ink and Grade school Art History. During this period, I had a show in the maxwell Gallery, at the RCCAC, I was published in" In the Wind magazine", " Galactic Crossroads", WV magazine "Art Works" and I illustrated the "Pioneer Index of Randolph County". Recently, I had Art and poetry pieces published in the Mago books. I continue to paint useful things (Chairs, Tables, Mirrors) create Pen & Ink multi medium pieces, Make Masks and handmade airdry clay pins and Earrings.
