Linda Silva
Linda Silva, seamstress and fiber artist, began her sewing adventures as a child when she designed and created clothes for her Barbie dolls. Since then, Linda has continued to expand her fiber arts making a variety of cotton and tapestry handbags, crocheted hats and pot holders, market bags, gloves, baby booties, and cotton aprons. Linda regularly uses recycled materials to create her upcycled products. She has taken Sunshade scraps to create her market bags, wool sweaters to create her booties and fingerless gloves, and feed sack material to fashion some aprons. In the past, she even cut out parts of bird seed bags to add to her market bags.
Linda has served as Treasurer at Artists at Work for many years and is always ready to lend a hand when needed. In the past, Linda worked as a child care provider in an emergency shelter for children in need. She helped many children over her twenty-four year service. When that position ended, Linda became a member of Artists at Work.
While busy enough, Linda finds time to watch her grandchildren and she is an avid gardener in her high tunnel. She produces loads of organic vegetables and fruits from her trees. Linda loves creating whether it be in nature or with her textiles.
